Gateway National offers St. Louis golfers the rare opportunity to return to the rich traditions of the game. Rolling links, separated by gentle mounds, meander through lush, green pasturelands.
Tall grasses, lakes, wood-tie bunkers, and occasional giant cottonwoods complete the landscape. In view of the magnificent Gateway Arch, you will cross occasional stone bridges, glide on raised boardwalks through quiet wetlands, and enjoy play on the only public course bentgrass fairways within hundreds of miles. Our convenient location makes us a natural choice for corporate outings and charity events. After your round, you'll want to linger in our clubhouse and enjoy our open-faced kitchen that serves an a la carte lunch with spectacular views across the links.

We're very easy to find. Gateway National Golf Course is almost directly across from downtown St. Louis in Madison, Illinois, adjacent to Gateway International Raceway. We can be reached conveniently via Interstate Highways I-55 and I-64 that interchange nearby.
From downtown St. Louis
- Drive East on the Poplar Street Bridge (I-55N, I-64E/Mo Highway 40E)
- On Bridge, use the second lane from left.
- Follow signs to remain on I-55N, toward Chicago.
- Take Exit 4 onto Illinois Highway 203 northbound. (The northbound exit will curve up, left, and cross over I-55.)
- You will pass Gateway International Raceway on your left.
- Turn left at next traffic signal, Eagle Park Road.
- Turn left again immediately onto the outer road (Golf Drive) paralleling Highway 203. (Reversing direction 180 degrees.)
- Turn right toward Gateway clubhouse and parking.
- Distance from middle of I-55/70 bridge: 5.6 miles
From Collinsville, Illinois
- Take I-55 South toward St. Louis.
- Take Exit 4B onto Illinois Highway 203 Northbound. (The northbound exit will curve up, left, and cross over I- 55.)
- You will pass Gateway International Raceway on your left.
- Turn left at next traffic signal, Eagle Park Road.
- Turn left again immediately onto the outer road (Golf Drive) paralleling Highway 203. (Reversing direction 180 degrees.)
- Turn right toward Gateway clubhouse and parking.
- Distance from Illinois 157 in Collinsville: 11.5 miles
From Fairview Heights, Illinois
- Take I-64 West toward St. Louis.
- Exit onto I-55 North. Stay in right lane.
- Take Exit 4 onto Illinois Highway 203 northbound. (The northbound exit will curve up, left, and cross over I-55.)
- You will pass Gateway International Raceway on your left.
- Turn left at next traffic signal, Eagle Park Road.
- Turn left again immediately onto the outer road (Golf Drive) paralleling Highway 203. (Reversing direction 180 degrees.)

Facility Information
Gateway National is a 18 hole public facility with three sets of tee to accommodate any skill leveled golfer with two large putting and chipping greens with a practice facility that includes a sand bunker to work on every aspect of your game.
Gateway National's clubhouse, which has been recently remodeled, has the look and feel of traditional Scottish architecture although it's just minutes from St. Louis. With 7,200 square feet of space, the clubhouse can more than accommodate groups of all sizes. In fact, we can seat up to 150 guests in our main room. Several other smaller room settings are available as well for a more intimate setting for business functions or private parties.
You can also relax on our 2,700 square foot Pavilion overlooking Gateway National's first tee and 18th green. The view is truly a sight to behold, especially in the late afternoon hours when the sun is going down as you enjoy your favorite beverage...or just good company.
You'll find a full complement of amenities in our locker room facilities in our clubhouse as well, including men's and women's changing rooms and private showers.
